French discovery Classes
At Alliance Française Amsterdam, we enhance children's natural ability to learn a language by providing a structured routine that is both
dynamic and interactive.
According to their age and level, the children will participate and learn French through several entertaining activities: games, crafts,
reading of fairytales, as well as speaking and writing activities.
We are happy to offer a trial class for your child so they can meet the teacher and their classmates before
coming back every week! Please contact us at the email address below so it can be arranged. Please note trial classes will be offered
if there is availability.
Our teachers are native, qualified and have a great deal of experience with children.
Registration is now possible per term, but beginners can only start in September. The course curriculum is designed for the whole
year.

For complete beginners in french
6-8 years old : Children will discover French through an interactive approach.
The course is given with the support of a teaching book Hourra! (not included in the price).
On Thursdays, from 3:30pm to 5pm at OBA Oosterdok.
Term 1 (from 19/09 to 19/12) : 305€

Workshops
Carnaval de la Francophonie
20 March 2026 at OBA Oosterdok
5 to 7 years
old - 3.30pm to 4.45pm
For one afternoon at the OBA, your children will turn into world explorers. From the snow of Canada to the lagoons of the Caribbean and the savannas of Africa, they will discover the French language and the richness of the French-speaking world.
- World Tour : An interactive game to learn vocabulary related to weather, climates, and accessories in French.
- Mask Workshop: A brave Lion, a busy Beaver, or a colorful Island Bird? Each child will create their own carnival mask inspired by the Francophone world (using feathers, glitter, and world patterns).
- Grand Parade: A festive musical parade to wrap up the workshop in style!
